Hi BiciRace,

The Giro is almost finished, and I feel relaxed this Sunday morning.

Garate came close to the podium, but we are satisfied with his top 5 position. The whole team worked for him in the last week after the second day rest. I felt better after the Time Trial, as my health is improving. In the last mountain stage I could almost breath normally and rode quite well, but still not at 100%. I am sorry I couldn't get into a breakaway, but I wasn't at top condition. Anyway I am happy with the beautiful experience. On the Finestre climb the sights looked marvellous, and it was very different from the last time I saw it. It was all dry and has been definitely fun to ride it.

This evening I will stay at home with my wife. Tomorrow I will fly to the USA for a week to race at the USPro in Philadelphia.

I will come to BiciRace.com headquarters one day in July. See you soon.

bye! Marco Pinotti

Stage 18, Ivan Basso put in an impressive performance, along with CSC teammate, David Zabriskie. All we can say now about Ivan Basso is: what if?
